Summary Experience

Kwabena is the Managing Associate for the firms’ Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice areas.

Kwabena has experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer with finance experience in Ghana. His experiences range from advising on complex cross-border and domestic finance transactions and credit arrangements, structuring and negotiating a wide range of financing facilities. He also has experience in drafting and reviewing of credit facilities and related documents.

       1. Part of CQ Legal’s team that advised the Ministry of Finance on the successful 2021 USD 3 billion Government of         Ghana (GOG) Sovereign Bond.

  1. Part of CQ Legal’s team that advised the Ministry of Finance on the successful 2020 USD 3 billion Government of Ghana (GOG) Sovereign Bond.
  2. Part of CQ Legal’s team that advised the Ministry of Finance on the successful 2019 USD 3 billion Government of Ghana (GOG) Sovereign Bond.
  3. Part of CQ Legal’s team that reviewed rationalisation of energy sector Power Purchase Agreements, Gas Sales Agreements, Put/Call Option Agreement, Government Consent Agreements and other related documents on behalf of the Government of Ghana.

    His achievements include being recognized as a finalist for the “Private Practice Most Promising Newcomer Award” category of the African Legal Awards 2021.


Kwabena holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Hons) in History from University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Laws degree (Hons) from Wisconsin International University College. He has completed the Barristers of Law (BL) programme at the Ghana School of Law and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.


Kwabena has keen interest in banking and finance law, capital markets, corporate and commercial Law, tax law, energy, agribusiness and infrastructure sectors.
